ModernArtifact is a collection of handcrafted, one of a kind art pieces based in craft and culture. Each year we take on a new concept and weave it into the story of Modern Artifact. Modern Artifact collections are grounded in culture and history, and use design to create special pieces for your space. It is an amalgamation of the artist's background: African, American, actor, Oklahoman, craftsman, Italian, artisan, director, Southerner, writer, stylist, Midwesterner, all with a little New York swagger.

Maven Collective is a vintage and handmade goods store located in the Montavilla Neighborhood in SE Portland, Oregon. ModernArtifact was invited in the summer of 2014 by Maven Collective to make an exclusive collection inspired by the desert and to be the first maker as part of the collective. The "Forgotten Sunsets Collection" is tactile and warmed by the colors of the desert. This collection includes African and vintage bead necklaces, hanging baskets with genuine leather straps, and ceramics.
